CCJ majors receive a BA or BS by successfully completing the 71 credits required for the CCJ major Core Curriculum. These requirements provide students with a solid background in all areas of the CCJ field, including law, policing, theory, and corrections. Students leave the program ready for the Criminal Justice field, graduate studies, or law school.

Although the CCJ department does not require a minor, the major requirements allow for opportunities to minor in other fields so students can tailor their education for their future career goals. Additionally, CCJ students have the opportunity to explore the many CCJ electives and special events such as Lock-in or a trip to a maximum security penitentiary.

Students who have a strong interest in the CCJ field and have the desire to develop their abilities for successful service at the local, state, and federal level are perfect candidates for the 91视频 Criminology/Criminal Justice Program.

CCJ students working towards a BA/BS will be instructed in all areas of the CCJ field through the core curriculum of the major. Students will also be educated on the fundaments of a broad range of topics to better prepare them for future employment or graduate studies.

The Capstone Research project is designed by each individual student with the aid of the class professor. Students can chose any topic they desire that is related to the CCJ field. In the past, some students have chosen to link their research with their internship, which is completed in a separate class. The final paper will be presented at the end of the term. Past research topics have included: Influences of Spanking on Juvenile Delinquency, Perception of Muslims on Campus, and Officer Stress and it’s Relation to Their Work Load.

[375,425
412
post-89629","degree","type-degree","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","degree-type-major","degree-type-online","degree-interest-type-social-justice
